Program areas at Pee Dee Healthy Start
As a network rooted in the local community, Healthy Start is distinguished as a unique service where general community and program participants, including health and social service providers are engaged and active in the quest to eliminate health disparities, and close the gap in infant mortality and morbidity in their communities. The organization touched over 1,400 pregnant and parenting women, infants, children and males which included adolescents,
Sexual risk avoidance program. Project respect services dillon and marion county youth ages 15 - 19 years of age by providing srae programming. We currently work with both dillon and marion county high schools and several partners in both counties by providing evidence-based teaching using the love notes curriculum provided by the dibble institute. Services will be provided to 825 individuals over the course of 3 years.
To promote Healthy marriage and responsible fatherhood for at risk families. The organization provides Healthy marriage and relationship education, social care and job and career advancement services to adult individuals ages 18 and older in five rural communities. The organization served 752 clients in the year ended 9/30/23.
To provide a reentry program into society and employment for released previously convicted individuals. It is a reentry program that serves individuals 18-24 years old in the underserved communities of williamsburg, florence, darlington, marion, dillon, and chesterfield counties since 2015. These individuals have also had been involved in the criminal justice system. Therefore, many have had a barrage of barriers to overcome. The dannon project provides a comprehensive approach to assist its participants in combatting impediments to overcome their personal challenges and achieve education, career certification, and gain meaningful employment to succeed in life. The organization served 315 individuals in the year ended 9/30/23.
