Program areas at Pi Kappa Alpha Foundation
Maintenance of war memorial headquarters:to maintain a permanent memorial for members of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity who gave their lives in military service. To preserve books, documents, war records and works of art for the encouragement of patriotic and historical research, particularly as to the history of education and educational institutions.
Publications & programming the Pi Kappa Alpha Foundation helps to fund several educational publications on an annual basis: shield & diamond magazine which is distributed four times per year to more than 20,000 people for informational and instructional purposes; pike university leadership training handbooks and a digital historical reference guide made available online.
Grants/scholarships/awardsthe Pi Kappa Alpha Foundation helped promote excellence in education and leadership by providing 94 individual scholarships for academic and/or leadership accomplishment, and 130 grants in support of educational programming and events. In addition scholarships were provided to students admitted into omicron delta Kappa, order of omega, tau beta Pi, phi Kappa phi and phi beta Kappa honor societies. Assisting in establishing, equipping and maintaining libraries, study rooms or other educational facilities owned and maintained by fraternity chapters.
