Description
RepresentWomen aims to strengthen democracy by eliminating barriers for women to run, win, serve, and lead. This is achieved through conducting research, educating PACs, donors, party leaders and elected officials with reform practices to advance female representation and leadership. The organization advocates for reform practices and is currently serving as a fiscal sponsor for Seneca Falls Revisited while supporting the work done by CREW to empower women of color. Additionally, their sponsorship program goes beyond management and support by helping address administrative needs at a low fee.
Related structure
RepresentWomen is a subordinate organization under FairVote.

Program areas at RepresentWomen

We researched the barriers women face as candidates and as elected officials and work with partners to address the barriers. We released our signature gender parity index report, held our annual democracy solutions summit, and participated in numerous events and panels.
In 2022 Representwomen, Inc served as fiscal sponsor for rcv Maryland. The grassroots coalition focused its work in 2022 on building relationships with local municipal legislators and election administrators. Rcvmd presented on ranked choice voting to the greenbelt board of elections and the rockville charter commission. We also supported regional rcv efforts, providing testimony on the voice act in dc. We were awarded an accelerator grant by unite america and have participated in regular meetings to support our program.
