Santa Fe Habitat for Humanity completed and placed families in 4 homes and completed 14 major home repair and rehab projects during the fiscal year. Santa Fe Habitat for Humanity also provided support to homeowners (83 families) with financial education tools for household budget creation and management, provided families with training in homeowner skills (how to reduce utility costs, perform basic home repairs, etc. ), and provided further support and education in a quarterly newsletter. Working with Habitat international, Santa Fe Habitat for Humanity participated in the americorps program in which 2 americorps members worked full-time during 11 months of the year. In return, the americorps members received on-the-job training in construction and office skills, cultural education and diversity, and citizenship and leadership skills. Santa Fe Habitat for Humanity programs depend heavily on partner family sweat equity and volunteers working in groups to build homes under the supervision of professional construction staff and americorps members. Volunteers also provide individual training to homeowner families, assist in the restore retail operation, and support fundraising and administrative functions. During covid-19 Santa Fe Habitat for Humanity adapted operations to eliminate close contact and ensure ongoing health and safety of homeowners, volunteers, and staff. During the fiscal year Santa Fe Habitat for Humanity utilized 554 individual volunteers. The total number of volunteer man-hours during the year was 18,426 (not including the americorps program).
