Sea Shepherd Conservation Society strives to conserve and protect ecosystems and species in the world's oceans through its mission of marine wildlife conservation, with a focus on ending the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife. Conservation campaigns:during 2022, 4 ships (sharpie, farley, mv john paul dejoria, martin sheen) were in operation to support the various campaigns of the organization and a 4th ship, the gis seahorse was added to the fleet.operation milagro: it was our 9th consecutive year working on the front lines to protect the world's most endangered marine mammal, the vaquita porpoise, along with the highly sought after totoaba. The totoaba is valuable and in high demand by cartels from mexico and asia. (continued on schedule o)working in conjunction with the mexican navy, sscs vessels were on the front lines, to stand against the cartels and prevent this species from total extinction. Operation guadalupe islands- the rv martin sheen and our crew worked closely with the mexican government and world-renowned scientists to gather data and intelligence on several marine species, with the goal of enacting protection campaigns and preserving the diverse islands of guadalupe.
