Self-Help housing Assisted 44 families in completing the construction of their new homes. 80 other families were in the process of construction as of June 30, 2022.Home buyer Assistance Program 27 families received secondary mortgage financing to help them purchase homes.Rehabilitation 62 families received financing and assistance in the rehabilitation or reconstruction of their homes. An additional 23 families were assisted with emergency home repairs (12) or domestic well financing (11).Multifamily Housing 288 Multifamily units were added to SHE's portfolio; 2,028 low-income housing families reside in 45 affordable rental housing projects developed and sponsored by Self-Help Enterprises. Four projects are currently under construction. Each project provides a range of resident services, such as after school day care, computer labs, ESL and Citizenship classes.Community Development Assistance to small communities with sewer and clean water issues is ongoing with work being done in more than 200 small rural communities.Home Ownership Education and Counseling 772 low-income households received individual and/or classroom homeownership training to prepare them for home ownership.Emergency Services - Installed 683 emergency water tanks; Hauled water to around 1,000 households for sanitation; Delivered drinking water to around 2,000 households; Drilled 23 wells; Installed 20 filtration devices to mitigate contamination in systems.
