Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening brings together researchers in academia, industry and government to advance life sciences discovery and technology via education, knowledge exchange and global community building. Conferences and education - slas hosts conferences in the united states and europe from all areas of the Laboratory Automation and screening field. The conferences include presentations and educational courses.
Memberships - slas membership includes a global community comprising more than 19,000 dedicated scientists, engineers, researchers, technologists, and business leaders concentrated on research and discovery through Laboratory science and technology. Slas offers tangible educational programs, relevant member benefits and services, and important resources to its membership.
The slas strategic planning process functions as a guide for decision-making and as a framework to measure progress. This plan is a flexible tool that can be recalibrated when necessary in response to new opportunities presented by the changes in member priorties, economic conditions, and market trends. The plans developed help to focus resources in ways that will best serve the membership and the organization.
Publications - publication and distribution of "slas discovery and "slas technology", which are scientific journals addressing the full spectrum of issues that are mission-critical to academia, commercial and government researchers, scientists and engineers, enabling research teams to gain scientific insights, increase productivity, elevate data quality, reduce process cycle times, and enable research and development that otherwise would be impossible.
The awards program advances slas' charitable, educational, and scientific purposes by: (i) encouraging, honoring, and highlighting significant scientific or educational contributions to Laboratory science and technology; (ii) encouraging students to explore and learn about Laboratory science and technology; and (iii) encouraging contributions to slas' scientific and educational programs by recognizing exceptional presentations, posters, and articles.
