Events - svin's annual meeting is an educational and networking event for physicians,industry partners, and members of the stroke care team, with approximately 900 annual attendees.
Research: svin research committee oversees a series of pilot awards that provide grant funding to members conducting research in furtherance of svin's mission.
Publications - "stroke: Vascular and Interventional Neurology journal" is an open access publication jointly owned by svin and the american heart association ("aha"), published by wiley. In 2022, svin and aha reconciled revenue and expenses from the previous year in accordance with a 50/50 profit (loss) share agreement. The publications program in the svin financial statements includes actual revenue and expenses incurred by svin as well as a profit (loss) reconciliation payment to or from svin, as applicable. In 2022, svin hosted a gala fundraiser at the annual meeting with net proceeds earmarked to offset the open access publication fees for trainee members and members from low and middle income countries.
Education: svin education initiatives provide virtual and in-person training for the stroke care team including ems and emergency department personnel and stroke recognition training for the general public. Additionally, educational programs provide virtual continuing medical education ("cme") for Vascular and Interventional neurologists. Svin also hosts "svin break", a virtual meeting for Vascular and Interventional Neurology trainees, and international hands-on training workshops through the mission thrombectomy global access for stroke treatment initiative.
