Emergency intake siteduring the 2021-2022 fiscal year, 65 youth were served within the emergency intake site. The site included the collaboration and cooperation of many different partners and provided youth with shelter, mental health support, medical services, education, and activities. The age range of youth served at the emergency intake shelter was 4-17 with the majority of the youth ranging from 13-17 years of age. The average length of stay for a youth coming from the mexico/us border was 14 days. The refugees from afghanistan had a longer stay, ranging from 30-60 days.

Community-basedduring the 2021-2022 fiscal year, 272 clients were served in our direct service programs: 243 clients in our behavioral health services outpatient program and 29 youth in our student resilience and empowerment center. Our behavioral health program included family and individual therapy, along with trauma assessments and interventions. 4,245 appointments were attended, 50 trauma assessments were completed, and 392 occupational therapy sessions were conducted. The average client age was 15 years, ranging from 0 to 59 years old. Our behavioral health program provided services via in-person (1,425), telehealth (phone) (101), and video (2,710) and began offering defusing sessions, conducting 14 sessions. During the 2021-2022 fiscal year, of behavioral health clients surveyed, 96.2% rated the quality of services as excellent or good. Additionally, 95.3% of respondents rated that they were very or mostly satisfied with the services that they received. 96.2% of the respondents indicated that they either generally or definitely received the services that they wanted. 90.7% indicated that the program met most or almost all their goals. Lastly, 93.8% rated that they were mostly or very satisfied with the amount of help that they received. Also during the 2021-2022 fiscal year, Starr piloted a new program - the student resilience and empowerment center (rec). Rec is a county-wide, school-based behavioral health program that provides middle school students with access to social, emotional, and mental health supports that can lead to improvded health and wellbeing. This immersive, half-day program builds on existing existing collaborations between Starr and local schools who together with the local ymca and county public mental health provider, bring a behavioral health treatment model that integrates public/private behavioral health into the school day. 29 students were enrolled in the program pilot. Of 17 rec program graduates, 100% reported improvements in their resilience from pre to post-program and 100% indicated that some, most, or all of their needs were met in the program. Of all rec staff surveyed, 100% agreed or strongly agreed that rec students presented improvements in resilience, self-efficacy, and peer-to-peer relationships.

Professional training and coachingduring the 2021-2022 fiscal year, 8,845 professionals engaged with Starr's training program, services, or resources. 7,440 professionals received training on the topics of trauma, positive youth development, building resilience, mindfulness, self-care, suicide prevention, racial healing, childhood sexual behavior, differential diagnosis and assessment, and adults of trauma through e-courses (globally) and training events (across the united states). 352 training events were offered and attended. In a sampling of 756 participants who participated in Starr's trauma-informed resilient schools course, 94.3% of participants rated the course as beneficial, very beneficial, or extremely beneficial. In a sampling of 268 participants who participated in Starr's children of trauma and resilience course, 97% of participants rated the course as beneficial, very beneficial, or extremely beneficial.
