Program areas at SACIRC

Substance Abuse Council (sac) programs are established to reduce the impact of Substance misuse and behavioral health disorders in Indian River County through prevention, education, treatment, and recovery support. For youth, sac provides multi-year universal Substance Abuse prevention in grades 5-8 in the County middle and elementary schools. Sac also provides an indicated prevention program in the form of education, prevention curriculum, and supportive counseling to adolescents and their families. Youth are referred to sac by the schools, by law enforcement, the court system, and the department of juvenile justice. For adults, sac provides Substance Abuse treatment programming in both day treatment and outpatient settings as well as peer recovery support services.
Substance Abuse free Indian River County (safir)is a local coalition that seeks to empower and mobilize our community to reduce the use of alcohol, marijuana, and other drugs by Indian River County youth through education, support, and collaboration, and action.
