Program areas at Sunshine Residential and Support Services
Highlights for 2022: - in the spring of 2022, we worked with staff, families and representatives of the fulton county board of dd (fcbdd) to close our Residential supports in fulton county. In coordination with the fcbdd, we were able to maintain continuity for many of the individuals by having another provider take over Services and employ staff currently working with individuals. Four individuals chose to move to openings within other Sunshine homes in lucas county. Continued on schedule o- individuals living at Sunshine's campus and in icf homes in the community returned to vocational Services in 2022 following the pandemic. - in september of 2022, the Residential programs, in coordination with nursing and therapy, created an interdisciplinary team to weekly review medications, quality indicators and individuals at risk for hospitalization. This proactive approach has helped identify needed changes, has improved tracking for quality indicators and has improved health outcomes for individuals we Support. - in the fall of 2022, we completed a strategic review and developed a plan to increase Services in our vent outlier program due to an increased request for Services. Currently, Sunshine has the capacity to Support 12 individuals in our vent outlier program. By making some changes to how we Support individuals residentially from admission to weaning off the vent, we will be able to increase our capacity to Support more individuals within this program.
