Sustainable Electronics Recycling International (seri) administers "the Sustainable Electronics reuse and Recycling (r2)standard- and certification program as the primary tool for achieving seri's mission. This standard promotes responsible practices for environmentally sound management of use of Electronics. In 2022, seri facilitated the multi-stakeholder consensus body to add pv modules to the r2 standard, continued oversight of the r2 certification program, and implemented version 3 of the r2 standard and certification program. (60%)
Seri engages in activities aimed at increasing the capacity of systems to responsibly manage Electronics in an environmentally sound manner protective of people and the planet. In 2022, this work included facilitation of the International e-waste management network of e-waste regulators (iemn) and engagement with local stakeholders in regions globally where there is a need and interest for responsible reuse and Recycling of Electronics. (10%)
Seri conducts ongoing education and outreach activities to promote environmentally responsible reuse and Recycling of Electronics. In 2022, seri presented at virtual conferences and traveled to conferences to teach about the risks of improper disposal and the benefits of a circular economy for Electronics. Seri added on-demand training modules and tools to its knowledge base on its website, conducted virtual classes, and expanded its outreach activities through social media and publications. (30%)
