Program areas at The Arc Warren County Chapter
The Arc of Warren County provides residential services for adult men & women with various developmental disabilities, serving over 80 individuals in 17 group homes and supervised apartments. Our focus is to teach each person to function in The most independent manner possible while learning and maintaining social skills to successfully interact in The community (recreation, social opportunities, personal care, cooking housekeeping, etc.) Group homes vary from 2 to 7 individuals and provide 24-hour supervision by highly trained staff members. Supervised apartments offer more independence and each houses 2-3 individuals. They are also taught specific skills, with guidance provided as needed, geared toward a greater level of independence.
A community based services program serving approximately 25 families gives parents/caretakers a respite from demanding work needed to care for their developmentally disabled family members. Support is also given to individuals who are living on their own. These services include assisting with recreational activities, medical appointments, grocery shopping, and other activities as needed.
