The College Foundation of the University of Virginia raises funds and promotes excellence and Jeffersonian distinction for the College and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences at the University of Virginia. It supports academic departments, interdisciplinary programs, and provides unrestricted funding for the Dean of the College. The Foundation also provides funding to support approximately 600 scholars of the College and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences with competitive compensation for cutting-edge research.

Departmental support - funding to support courses, academic innovation, and instructional needs of The school's academic departments and interdisciplinary programs. This support aslo includes funding for The unrestricted use by The dean of The College and graduate school of arts & sciences. Gifts to The annual fund allow The dean to address The most pressing needs and promising opportunities related to The 11,564 undergraduates and 1,242 graduate students in The arts and sciences.
Student scholarships, fellowships, and other programs - includesfunding for undergraduate scholarships, graduate fellowships,special lectures, advising, student research, scholarly awards,and other student support for The College and graduate school of arts & sciences.
Faculty excellence - funding to support The eminent professors inthe academic disciplines of arts & sciences. Gifts directed to support The faculty ensure that The College and graduate school of arts & sciences outstanding classroom instruction can continue.
