Shadowfax empowers individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (idd) to achieve greater independence, choice, and opportunity in their lives. Our dedicated team of direct support professionals (dsp) receives ongoing, comprehensive training to deliver quality services, ensure The health and safety of each individual, support meaningful relationships, and provide opportunities to pursue goals. The everyday lives values provide The foundation that supports our person-centered services. We aspire for each individual to live an everyday life - a life that is no different than that of all other citizens. The program has 62 individuals that reside in one of our 20 community living arrangements.
Employment supports: our employment team is focused on full inclusion of people with disabilities in The workplace. Job developers are certified by The association of community rehabilitation educators (acre) to assist in finding and/or customizing jobs. Job coaches receive certified employment support professional (cesp) credentialing to provide direct assistance on The job. The employment supports team engages individuals in every aspect of The job search and development process. Job interests, preferences, skills, and abilities are explored and assessed to aid each individual in finding and retaining their dream job. There are currently 5 people being supported in jobs in york community.prevocational training: Shadowfax partners with local area businesses to meet a variety of manufacturing needs such as packaging, labeling, and light assembly. This program encourages The development of workplace skills related to professional behavior, quality, and productivity consistent with each person's strengths, interests, and abilities. There are approximately 80 people in this program.community supports: at Shadowfax, we believe that all people have The right to live, love, work, play, and pursue their life aspirations in their community. Our skilled direct support professionals encourage individuals to participate in various volunteer opportunities, explore new interests, develop meaningful relationships, and increase skills in everyday lives. Life skills supports: each person has an opportunity to be involved in activities he or she enjoys. For those not actively involved in The community, we offer plenty of opportunities in our onsite programs. This program provides a high level of support for people who have more significant needs. Whether it be spa day, cooking classes, improving fitness and mobility, playing games, or relaxing, our staff are committed to ensuring The people we support have a fun and fulfilling day. Individuals enjoy these activities and more in a comfortable, friendly, and stimulating environment. There are approximately 57 people in this program.
