The Women's Center provides support for all impacted by domestic/child abuse, sexual violence & trafficking and aims to provide safety, shelter, and empowerment. Its shelter provides safe and confidential housing with a 24-hour hotline for those homeless due to domestic violence, sexual assault or human trafficking. It also offers parenting classes and short-term family counseling for positive stress management. Additionally, it provides outreach services to enable women to enter or return to the workforce.

Program areas at The Women's Center

Shelter - provides safe, confidential, housing and supportive services to adults and their children who are homeless as a result of domestic violence, sexual assault or human trafficking. The shelter operates a confidential 24 hour hotline. This program also offers domestic violence or sexual assault or abuse legal advocacy and support to individuals seeking legal remedy in The civil and criminal justice systems. During 2022, The shelter provided 6,480 nights of care to 137 adults and children and took 6,775 hotline calls. The shelter also received 679 client referrals from law enforcement, including 267 facing a high risk of homicide as determined The lethality assessment program. Advocates provided support to 341 adults and children in domestic violence and legal advocacy programming.
Transitional living - this program helps adults and their children transition from an abusive environment to independent living by providing safe, affordable housing and support services. Clients can spend up to two years in The transitional living program. During 2022, The agency provided services to 11 households through The transitional living program.
Advocacy: provides short-term advocacy for adult and child survivors of sexual assault and abuse via individual sessions and support groups and workshops. 24/7 crisis response is provided to local hospitals following an assault. In 2022, The agency provided non-residential advocacy services to 43 adults and children and responded to 21 rape crisis calls at local hospitals
Family support - offers parenting classes and short-term family counseling to teach positive ways to deal with stress. In 2022, we provided services to 30 adultsemployment - outreach service to enable women to return or enter The workforce. In 2022, we provided services to 56 adultseducation - provides a community educator who presents programs to local schools, community groups and others. In 2022, we participated in 70 events.
