United Way of Yuma County empowers local individuals to break the cycle of poverty by providing them with the necessary tools. We firmly believe that every child, young adult, and family has the right to succeed, irrespective of their income or location. Through our partnerships across the county, we bring innovative programs such as Ja Biztown that enable elementary school students to experience hands-on learning in a simulated town and connect their classroom education with real-world scenarios.

Eyespy 20/20 is the world's only completely automated, subjective vision screening method. The eyespy 20/20 vision screening program is fast, accurate, reliable, and fun for all students. Screenings are available to Yuma County students at no cost.
United Way of Yuma County gives local individuals the tools needed to break the cycle of poverty. We believe that all children, young adults, and families deserve the chance to succceed, regardless of zip code or income. With partners countywide- school districts and businesses, the public sector and nonprofits, philanthropy and social service-uwyc collaborates on the best ways to support youth success and family stability by identifying what's working and building on proven practices supported by data and our partners' expertise.
Ja biztown combines in-class learning with a day-long visit to a simulated town. This popular program allows elementary school students to operate banks, manage restaurants, write checks, and vote for mayor. The program helps students connect the dots between what they learn in school and the real world. Ja biztown is helping Yuma County students break the cycle of poverty in their families.
