Program areas at Washington-Morgan Community Action
Senior & Community services - 98,874 meals provided to eligible seniors in both Counties; 411 rental assist. Vouchers provided to eligible families each month for 12 mo. ; payee Program - 39 individuals assisted with representative payee services; 201 homeless veterans assisted with finding housing and paying rent on that housing to help them move towards self sufficiency; 4,162 summer meals provided to children; 1,517 households assisted with emergency heating & cooling
Housing & transportation - 29 homes weatherized, 2 homes rehabbed, 9 homes received repair, 46 housing units maintained, 64 homes received energy efficiency measures, 13,872 transit passengers tranported, and 1787 net passengers transported.
Childrens programs- head start provided services to 177 children in an effort to increase the school readiness of preschool children by providing educational, social, nutritional, health, and developmental screening services. Early head start provided services to 23 pregnant women, infants, and toddlers to promote healthy prenatal outcomes for pregnant women, to enhance the development of very young children, and to promote healthy family functioning. Head start and early head start provided services to a combined total of 166 families to strengthen families by fostering self-sufficiency, family literacy skills, and the importance of positive parentchild interactions.
Health programs - 3,650 wic client visits involving 970 participants.
Corporate services - affordable rents provided to special needs populations through the development of subsidized rental units; furnace repair and weatherization provided to eligible families in both Counties.
