Program areas at White Buffalo Land Trust
We established the 1,000-acre center for regenerative agriculture at the jalama canyon ranch in santa barbara county, California. The center is a demonstration, learning, and teaching hub for the evolution of Land stewardship and participating in the solutions to the climate, biodiversity, public health, and food security challenges that we face today.
We have directly engaged 860 community members in our education programs and another 9000+ through our opt-in digital community.
We have influenced management practices on over 77,000 acres of Land through our consulting and training programs.

White Buffalo Land Trust provides training for current and future Land stewards and works to build coalitions between farmers, researchers, and commercial brands to support the transition of Land management and the growing and raising of keystone crops from conventional to regenerative principles, practices, and techniques. Training opportunities are offered throughout the year and include hands-on workshops and mentorship programs, and accredited courses from the savory institute. Current keystone crop coalitions are working on almonds, cotton, beef and grapes.
White Buffalo Land Trust is innovating and leading on the creation of packaged food products that support the increase in both supply and demand for regenerative agriculture. Through the sale of persimmon vinegar and other forthcoming products, we are introducing the community to products that support the transition of agriculture from conventional to regenerative principles, practices and techniques.
White Buffalo Land Trust's flagship farm was selected as a 2019 California healthy soils program grant recipient through the California department of food and agriculture (cdfa). The healthy soils program focuses on three primary areas: implementation of conservation practices, data collection, and community outreach.
White Buffalo Land Trust was awarded funds from the united states department of agriculture (usda) local food promotion program fund. Local food promotion program funds projects that develop, coordinate and expand local and regional food business enterprises that engage as intermediaries in indirect producer to consumer marketing to help increase access to and availability of locally and regionally produced agricultural products.
