Wi-aimh's work is centered on developing professional capacity for all those who work with or on behalf of infants, toddlers, and their families. Wi-aimh is the only agency in Wisconsin to hold an internationally recognized license (imh endorsement) to credential professionals to ensure they maintain high standards of practice. Imh endorsement verifies that a professional has attained unique knowledge, skill and experience within their role to support optimal development of infants, young chidlren and their families and do so within the culturaly responsive and equitable lens. Wi-aimh was able to secure funding in support to obtain early childhood Mental Health endorsement (ecmhe) wi-aimh coordinates Wisconsin pyramid model for social and emotional competence.pyramid model, funded by the department of children and families, is an evidence-based multi-tiered system of support for parents and professionals to promote optimal social and emotional development of infants and young children and prevent challenging behaviors. In 2022, 756 practitioners attended pyramid model trainings and more than 1000 parents/family members attended positive solutions for families trainings. Additionally, in 2022 we launched the power of connection - our new web experience for famlilies and communities. The power of connection is an interactive website that invites parents, caregivers, family and community members to learn more about the emotional world of babies and toddlers. The site offers rich content about child development with focus on the social and emotional domain.
Wi-aimh was able to host its first "post-pandemic" Wisconsin Infant and early childhood Mental Health conference conference in october of 2022. The conference was offered in a hybrid format. Over 300 people from around the state were able to attend in person and 128 participants joined on-line. Conference participants represented a cross section of professional disciplines and programs including birth to 3 providers, public Health staff, home visitors, Mental Health clinicians, teachers, and child welfare staff. In addition, the conference provided an opportunity to celebrate wi-aimh's 21 anniversary with members, partners, board of directors, and friends of the organization.
