Program areas at The Young Men's Christian Association of Florida's First Coast
The ymca believes that The values and skills learned early on are vital building blocks for life. Because of The y, more Young people in neighborhoods around The nation are taking a greater interest in learning and making smarter life choices. At The y, children and teens learn values and positive behaviors, and can explore their unique talents and interests, helping them realize their full potential. That makes for confident kids today and contributing and engaged adults tomorrow reinforcing our commitment to our cause: strengthening The foundations of community.in 2023, The ymca served 22,436 individuals (some duplicated), and provided $355,701 in financial assistance to 1,573 participants in various ymca programs for youth development. These programs include: (1) child care; (2) education and leadership; (3) swim, sports and play; and (4) camp.
The generosity of others is at The core of The ymca's existence as a nonprofit, charitable organization. It is only through The support of hundreds of thousands of volunteers nationwide, and public and private donors that we are able to support and give back to The communities we engage. To bring about meaningful change, individuals need ongoing encouragement and tools. The ymca is here day-in and day-out to provide The resources The communities need to address The most pressing social issues. The ymca works to make sure every child, family and The community has what is needed to achieve their best. Through The ymca, hundreds of volunteers on The First Coast, and more than 500,000 across The nation, along with donors, leaders and partners are empowering millions of people, and The communities in which they live, reinforcing The ymca's commitment to our cause: strenghtening The foundations of community.in 2023, The ymca served 36 individuals and provided $43,587 in financial assistance to 14 families participating in ymca programs for social responsibility. These programs include (1) social services; (2) global services; (3) volunteerism and giving; and (4) advocacy
Healthy living means more than simply being physically active. It is about maintaining a balanced spirit, mind and body. The y is a place where you can work toward that balance by challenging yourself to learn a new skill or hobby, fostering connections with friends through our lifelong learning programs, or bringing your loved ones closer together through The ymca's many family-centered activities. At The y, it is not about The activity you choose as much as it is about The benefits of living healthier on The inside, as well as The outside.in 2023, The ymca served 104,164 individuals, and provided $1,817,558 in financial assistance to 25,585 participants in ymca programs for healthy living. These programs include: (1) family time; (2) health and wellness; (3) fitness activities; and (4) group interests.
