Program areas at Youth Volunteer Corps
Located in more than 30 communities, Youth Volunteer Corps (YVC) recruits teams of diverse youth ages 11-18 to perform service learning projects in their communities. In this program year, 6,059 youth served their communities for a cumulative 93,785 service hours, completing 4,290 projects addressing communities needs. Projects completed by our youth address needs ranging from food insecurity to the environment and financial literacy to teen mental health awareness. In the process, YVC's service-learning model involves learning skills such as construction and STEM, while also building life and work skills in our youth like collaboration, the ability to adapt to change, and the ability to complete tasks without direct oversight.
