Program areas at DSIE
The mission statement of the dib-isao, in collaboration with u.s. government partners and the aerospace and Defense industry is to facilitate voluntary collaboration and Information Sharing among government and private industry to gather, analyze and share Information on vulnerabilities, threats and intrusions; enhance the ability of the Defense Industrial Base (dib) sector to prepare for, respond to and mitigate risk due to cyber threats, vulnerabilities and incidents; and to serve as the primary cyber incident communications channel for the sector.the dib-isao shall:-exchange Information and assessments of: -threats and incidents affecting the software/hardware elements of the dib and dod; -vulnerabilities; -remedies; and -consequent risks to the dib and dod critical infrastructure-develop strategies to mitigate the risk of cyber threatsthe mission aligns with the february 2015 presidential executive order 13691 - promoting private sector cyber Security Information Sharing to enhance the ability of dib companies and suppliers to protect and defend dib intellectual property and business operations internationally. Since 2008, the dsie has facilitated trusted collaboration among dib cyber Security experts to include Information Security analyst & responder training with cutting edge cyber monitoring, response, & mitigation processes. Incident response, incident management, Security metrics, and the benefits of overall dib situational awareness identifies trends, both individually, and as a whole allowing for the rapid Analysis of many disparate data sources and functions with actionable real-time intelligence for the overall dib-isao ecosystem and members' diverse computing environments. The dib-isao operates an analyst portal for real time indicator Sharing and Analysis and sponsors twice a year analyst technical exchanges. These cyber dissemination techniques and tools have proven successful in educating cyber warriors and protecting the dib critical infrastructure.
