Our primary program is the free legal service hotline, which received more than 7,500 calls from residents seeking legal assistance, all of these callers were provided with legal information and referrals to legal service programs in effort to help them resolve their issues. The most common calls were from individuals with family law issues, including divorce, child custody and child support, in addition, lcjc also assisted callers in. Need of assistance with consumer law issues, housing and a variety of other civil legal needs. Lcjc also serves as the primary statewide hotline for Louisiana's justice community in the event of major. Community legal clinics : in 2015, lcjc continued its series of community legal clinics aimed at reaching more community members in need. Lcjc partners with various service organizations to hold topical legal information and assistance clinics in community settings on a monthly basis. Lcjc staff provides information and assistance to groups and individuals on issues such as family law, housing and other areas affecting low-income communities .in 2015, lcjc reached more than 200 people through community clinics. Court-based help desks : in 2014, lcjc began operating a help desk at the Orleans Parish court and the 24th judicial district court to assist self-represented litigants with domestic issues. The desk is staffed by attorneys and volunteers who provide legal information and assistance with court approved forms on a walk-in basis.
