Recycling reinvented is a nonprofit organization committed to advancing recycling rates of waste packaging and printed material in the u.s. through an extended producer responsibility (epr) model. Epr requires that brand owners of packaging and printed materials cover the cost of managing their product waste. Epr would increase recycling rates, reduce government spending, and use private sector efficiencies to reduce the overall cost of recycling. Outreach: recycling reinvented has a website at www.recycling-reinvented. Org to demonstrate the value of epr to stakeholders that features blog entries on relevant developments in the field and news releases. The organization also has a twitter feed that adds to our social media presence. Research: in 2013 recycling reinvented and its contractor carried out a cost-benefit study of epr focused on Minnesota. The objective was to demonstrate how an epr system would work. We continued to make the study available for stakeholders in 2015.
