The mission of wetumpka volunteer fire department is to provide fire and rescue services to the wetumpka and lake taguin communities in gadsden county, Florida or where requested by other agencies. The department is also called upon to respond to other fire/rescue events (mostly vehicle accidents) along the interstate 10 corridor. The wfvd assists the quincy fire department and neighboring volunteer departments when requested * all revenue received membership dues, donations, annual fund raising events and the contract with the gadsden county board of county commissioners) are solely for the purposes of performing the mission of the department. All expenditures of the wvfd are related to the same activities listed above. Expenditures include firefighter gear, maintenance and repair of the fire trucks, pagers, and other fire/rescue equipment. The majority of the administrative costs are associated with the buildings which house the fire trucks and equipment. Some of the equipment require regulated temperature levels. Total costs for the newsletter was $695. The annual fundraising event is advertisted in the newsletter along with the membership dues reminder but no specific revenue can be tied to the newsletter.
