The IRS finally released new nonprofit tax returns, and Cause IQ has added them to our data pipeline
As many of you know, the IRS was extremely delayed in releasing new nonprofit tax returns over the past two years or so. A few weeks back, the IRS published a large XML data dump of Form 990s, 990-PFs, and 990-EZs, and Cause IQ has added over 1.2 million of these updated tax returns to our nonprofit database.
Here's a breakdown of the updated forms we've added since the beginning of May:
You'll now see much more 2022 and 2021 fiscal year tax forms and corresponding digitized information available in Cause IQ. As a reminder, Cause IQ's Most recent tax filings field represents the year and month of fiscal period end of the most recent tax form available from the IRS. This field is available to search, view, export, analyze, etc.
Here's a breakdown of the Most recent tax filings field for DC-based nonprofits with more than $5M in revenues and have 2022 tax data available.
