Cause IQ enhanced our category system to help our customers better understand what an organization is, the issue areas they work on, and their general characteristics. We combined our existing data sources and added new data sources to update our categories to help our customers narrow down on organizations that matter to them most and better understand why organizations exist.

Organizations in Cause IQ are now categorized by Types (e.g., Chamber of commerce, Food banks etc.), Issues (Animals, Human rights etc.), and Characteristics (Conducts research, Memberships, etc.). These fields are available to view, search, and export. The corresponding filters for these fields can be found in the "Categories and characteristics" subsection of the search filter sidebar's "All" filters tab.

Here are all the options available within each of the new category fields. Please note that these are not mutually exclusive (i.e., an organization can be associated with more than one option from a category field).
