Create custom notes and view your activity history directly within organization profile pages
The Cause IQ team is excited to introduce a new notes feature and an activity history section within organization profile pages. These tools help you quickly add context to the charities, associations, foundations, and other nonprofits you are working with, such as when you previously exported them, if you (or a colleague) has added them to a custom list, or special notes on whether a particular organization is a good fit or not. With these updates users can now easily keep track of their work related to individual organizations within Cause IQ. These new features also enhance collaboration for teams using Cause IQ by allowing colleagues to view each other's activities and notes.
This new Cause IQ feature makes it easy to keep track of your research within the platform right on an organization’s profile page. For users who work with colleagues within Cause IQ, this feature also supports seamless collaboration.
To create a note, navigate to the “Your activity with Organization Name” (activity history) section of the profile page. Click on the textbox located directly below the “Add new note” header and start typing. To save the new note, click the “Add note” button below the textbox.
The new note will then be added to the activity history on the organization’s profile page. Once the note has been saved, you can edit or delete it by clicking on either option as shown in the screenshot below.
This new section located within an organization’s profile page keeps track of how you have interacted with the organization in Cause IQ. The activity history section shows when you have done the following in relation to the organization:
Shared activity history: If you have colleagues who also work within Cause IQ with a separate user license, this activity section will become a shared activity history. You can view your colleagues’ actions related to the organization as well as your own.
The default privacy preferences allow your colleagues to view your activities and created notes within organization profile pages. If you would like to change these settings, click on the person icon in the upper righthand corner of the webpage. From there select “Account settings” from the dropdown menu. Next, select “Privacy settings”. Once you are in the Privacy preferences page, you can make your newly-created notes and profile views private by checking the boxes next to them and clicking the blue “Update settings” button. You can also access your Cause IQ account settings from the "Quick links" section of your Dashboard.
