Program areas at 100 Black Men of North Metro Atlanta
Mentoring consists of a Men of Tomorrow program in separate locations three counties, Cobb, North Fulton and Gwinnett. Sessions are held twice monthly and consists of group and individual mentoring on life skills by volunteer members. Group activities such as team activities and educational field trips are part of the curriculum. We conducted several career trips and facilitated over 15 mentoring sessions We graduated 12 yound men and sent 10 to college.
Health and Wellness program consists of providing awareness programs on improving health and prevention of health issues. We conducted an 5K Race this year that rasised awareness for a variety of health issues in the community.
Education Program consists of in-school counseling by volunteer members at several area schools. In addition, programs such as annual scholarship awards to seniors, college tours, Robotics program, and tutoring program to improve subject matter.
Economic Empowerment program addresses the needs of understanding how to develop financial awareness and independence. This is done through seminars and competitive learning exercises that results in special recognition as well as rewards for participation.
