Program areas at 100 Black Men of San Antonio

YouthBuild San Antonio is a workforce development program for youth and adults. YBSA training model is a Pre-Apprenticeship Construction program that provides Industry recognized training in construction or medical along with educational opportunities to complete high school for opportunity youth 16-24 and adults 18 and up. The participants receive industry recognized credentials and paid biweekly stipend while receiving training. The schedule is Monday through Friday for a period of 6 to 8 months. The objective is for each student to complete high school, receive a pre-apprentice certification in Construction NCCER or HBI, or complete the Certified Nursing Assistant program and pass the state board exam. There are full wrap around services by an assigned manager during training and 12 months after. The students are then assisted to find employment/post education/additional job training with their case manager. Each participant receives follow-up services for 1 year post training and is given resources needed, such as business cards, uniforms, job interview attire, etc.
