Program areas at 3rnet
3rnet maintained a National advertising campaign in four print journals and conference brochures, six websites, four social media sites, and exhibits at various conferences for practicing physicians, medical students and residents, and other providers. Additionally, 3rnet participated in Rural health roundtables, webinars, conferences, forums, and meetings. 3rnet presents a unified presence of its 50 state members and 4 non-state members at these gatherings and via its website. 3rnet hosts a website as a tool for managing candidates and community profiles in an online database. The website provides to members the number of registrations for a given period of time, sorted by various fields such as specialty, visa or citizenship status, source of learning of 3rnet, and others. Social media continues to drive traffic to the website. However, most new registrations come from sources other than social media. The 3rnet website remains the only secure, non-profit website that helps Rural and underserved communities. "users" to the website are physicians, other medical providers, and health professionals seeking positions in Rural and under-served areas in the united states. 3rnet currently has 81,327 active candidates registered on its website. Candidates have access to complete contact information for 3rnet members, community profiles, practice opportunities, and links to other valuable websites. Communities/facilities use the website to post practice opportunities and have the same contact information and links available to candidates. Additionally, 3rnet members have access to a resource library with documents and presentations for use in their state environments, as well as a directory of facilities that post opportunities, the opportunities that have been posted, and the entire candidate database.
In 2023, 3rnet extended its candidate tracking and website functionality enjoyed by member organizations directly to employers as a fee based service. 3rnet plus tools was developed over multiple years and marketed to employers who have a small staff to do Recruitment activities but need extra assistance in keeping the process organized. A 3rnet plus tools subscriber can pay a monthly or yearly fee to be able to access a candidate tracking system, customizable email functionality and the ability to embed their 3rnet jobs on their own website. Other features are being added to enhance the user experience as dollars and interest grow.
Prism is a collection of state primary care offices, offices of Rural health, area health education centers and other organizations that have partnered to collect data to identify and document outcomes to enhance the Retention of clinicians. Through its design, this collaborative approach builds shared interest, cooperation and group wisdom in best practices to promote Retention among the collaborative states. Prism provides a standardized and state-of-the-art way for states to gather real-time data from clinicians as they serve in states and the National health service corps (nhsc) loan repayment, scholarship and other incentive programs. This Retention data gathering system routinely surveys clinicians as they serve in these public programs to provide quality, consistent, real-time, convenient and ongoing data to inform the management and Retention of clinicians in service programs. Prism is a complex, longitudinal data gathering system that incorporates the data collection, analysis and dissemination expertise of the cecil g. sheps center for health services research. State offices can easily enter, track and manage Retention questionnaires. Prism training and technical assistance is provided by 3rnet, supported through a contract with the National Rural health association with funds from the us health resources and services administration (hrsa). State collaborative members pay an annual fee to support enhancements to prism.
