Program areas at 52nd Street Project

Here are some of the highlights from 2022-2023: In FY23, we received a grant from NYSCA to invest in social media marketing for our productions. We saw an immediate positive result with a 63% jump in attendees after we began advertising on social media. This is something we will continue to invest in even after our NYSCA grant is completed. For the first time, the Project partnered with its neighbor across the street, P.S. 111 Adolph S. Ochs, to bring an adapted version of our Playmaking program to their 4th graders. This partnership was prompted by an influx of students of migrant families bused to our neighborhood from out of state. 100% of our senior class graduated from high school and 26 alumni enrolled in college and will be receiving $1,000 scholarships as part of our Ron Black Memorial Scholarship Fund. The Project engaged over 140 young people in Hell's kitchen in FY23, and saw 1,790 attendees at our productions (with an additional 1,302 unique viewers watching the live stream from home) celebrating the work created by and featuring our young people.
