Program areas at A-Copi Tennis and Sports Center
Lessons and teaching programs. KVTA provides a gathering place for daily tennis and pickleball, where there are many tennis and pickleball clinics and lessons for the community and its members. KVTA has six Tennis Teaching Professionals available as well as two Pickleball Teaching Professionals. KVTA offers the following Junior tennis clinics: Tiny Tikes (for 4-6-year-olds, which uses foam and Red Balls for tennis development), 10-and-Under (for 7-10-year-olds, which uses Orange Balls and Green balls), a Beginner Middle/High School Clinic, and an Intermediate Middle/High School clinic. Approximately 65 junior players participated in tennis clinics. Approximately 47 junior players took tennis lessons. Approximately 5 juniors took Pickleball clinics and/or lessons. KVTA's Adult clinics and lessons are well received also, with about 35 adults participating in clinics and 40 adults taking lessons. Pickleball clinics are very popular, with up to 80 adults participating in clinics and about 55 adults taking Pickleball lessons.
Tournaments and special events. KVTA held a Fall Festival of tennis in November. KVTA hosted 11 USTA League match dates throughout the year. KVTA fielded nine USTA League teams this year, four men's teams, three Mixed teams, and two women's teams. The skills ranged from 3.0 to 4.0 and the ages ranged from 27 to 70 years old.
Court usage for tennis and pickleball. Approximately 190 tennis players used KVTA's four courts for social tennis or drilling on their own time (not lessons). Approximately 125 pickleball players spent time on KVTA's eight pickleball courts, which are located on the tennis courts. There is a nice balance of court use between pickleball and tennis.
