Program areas at Abide Ministries
Ever since the beginning in 1996, Abide Ministries has served to point people from all backgrounds and walks of life to jesus. Helping them hear from god, and trust and respond to what god is doing in and through their life has resulted in strengthened families in our community and beyond. For some, hearing from god is paired with a desire to create or begin something new. In response to god's leading, Abide general has had the honor of assisting these courageous and compassionate leaders to establish new initiatives and programs that help others come to know the love of christ. The Ministries and programs that have come up through Abide general are varied as each individual or family we serve comes with a unique idea of how to love our community and follow god's plan for their lives. Several serve to fight human trafficking and provide trauma care for sexually abused children and adults, others bring god's love into semi-professional sports, some serve individual and community needs through art and reconciliation, others provide care and connection for people experiencing homelessness, some provide young adult and family mentorship and free financial training, and others care and community for international students and widows. Each helping the people they encounter to hear from god just as we desire to do.
99-1 many of our programs include an aspect of mentorship in some form. We've seen great success in this area with adults and families connected to our 99-1 ministry. By sharing practical life experience, teaching, and coaching god has allowed the leadership of 99-1 to affect the lives of others in a beautiful way. Their work is done by meeting with people in their homes and a variety of places, wherever needed, to listen to, build up, and empower each person to understand the love of the father for them and the great power he has given for living, and overcoming life's difficulties.
Patron among other Abide branches doing work to fight human trafficking, one of our largest programs is patron. Patron's work is done in partnership with national anti-sex trafficking organizations under the auspices of both federal and local law enforcement to end the demand for domestic sex trafficking. Patron leads teams of volunteers in the metro detroit area to take tangible, direct, and effective action in order to disrupt trafficking locally and nationwide. Patron also works to serve the local ecosystem of various anti-sex trafficking organizations in order to help prolong their combined and comprehensive sustainability.
