Abilene Restoration Ministries Inc (arm) continued to grow its employment program. The number of residents employed by arm increased from 7 in 2022 to 41 in 2023. Employees performed a variety of jobs for different companies and individuals all over the greater Abilene area.
Abilene Restoration Ministries Inc (arm) expanded the job trades training programs. Additionally, a "temp" service was begun to offer workers for temporary work opportunities with the intent of exposing the Men to different types of mechanical trades for learning purposes and possible permanent employment. Partnering with the Texas workforce commission, Men who already possess skills can enter apprenticeship programs.
Abilene Restoration Ministries Inc (arm) purchased another house in 2023 to house Men who completed the program and were ready to move into a "sober living" house with supervision. The residents of the sober living house are required to have employment and pay weekly rent to the ministry. Arm continued to house Men still in the program in houses purchased in prior years. From 2022 through 2023 arm increased the number of Men in the program from 30 to 55. Arm also completed construction on a new headquarters building that has commercial kitchen facilities, counseling rooms, and a large multi-purpose room for worship assemblies, class training,and aa and na meetings.
