The Absaroka Beartooth Wilderness Foundation supports stewardship of the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness and fosters appreciation of all public and wild lands through wilderness stakeholder engagement. Program areas at Absaroka Beartooth Wilderness Foundation

In 2022, abwf coordinated 6 volunteer trail projects and 2 weed pulls, leading 67 volunteers who contributed 1,480 hours (plus 619 staff hours; not including partner staff and volunteers) to maintain or improve 48 miles of trail and trail corridor. One late june project was cancelled due to a catastrophic flood event on june 14th. This is being rescheduled for 2024. The 2022 Wilderness steward worked 713 hours, helping maintain 148 miles of trail, clearing 148 water bars and 1,063 downed trees. The steward also assisted in public outreach for visitors stranded during the june flood event.in 2022, 15 individuals volunteered a total of 18 days contacting 955 visitors at 6 trailheads. Abwf also hosted 4 ambassador training events with 41 participants for a total of 75 training hours.abwf hosted 9 free educational events for a total of 320 participants using 111 staff hours and 62 volunteer hours.
