Program areas at Active Lifestyle Events
Joplin Memorial Run general expenses, this includes general operational costs of the event, excluding cash awards, prizes. A full marathon was added in 2016, but just for the 5th anniversary year. In 2017 a relay race was added as well. We change our event to match the ever changing tastes of the running community. 2020 we moved our race to December and greatly reduced our numbers allowed to allow for social distancing and enhanced safety procedures. This allowed our event to safely take place. For 2021, we are back to May races and changed starting line to new location due to large construction project. Start is now in park impacted by 2011 tornado and across from Mercy Park.
Contract Services which include Race Director $35,000 to oversee the entire race, and various workers paid a small stipend to manage volunteers and assist in recruiting all volunteers and services.
Marketing for the Joplin Memorial Run.
All other expenses associated with the Joplin Memorial Run and operation of the organization. $3825 in grants awarded, Accounting Services $3041, Insurance $1249, and numerous other expenses necessary to carry out the functions of the race. These are broken down further in part IX of form 990. and depreciation of 12088.

Joplin Humane Society (JHS) | Joplin Humane Society Project Is A Person/pet Walking Track. This Required A Great Deal of Ground Prep, and Results in An Environment To Provide Individuals and Families A Safe and Positive Place To Walk the Pets in the Center. the Site Originally Would Be Muddy and Not Very Inviting. This Project Added A Healthy Activity for the Participants and Helps the Shelter Provide Volunteers To Make Sure the Pets Housed Remain Healthy Until Adopted. This Reduces the Hours Needed for Paid Staff, and Will Hopefully End Up With Adoptions As A Result of the Connections Between the Participants and the Pets. Happy Pet Owners Often Are Healthier As A Result of the Relationship and Time Spent Together. | 2019-12 | $15,000 |
Stained Glass Theatre Joplin | Stained Glass Theatre Had Significant Damage To Their Owned Facility As A Result of the 2011 Joplin Ef-5 Tornado. They We Unable To Do More Than Patch for Several Years. We Agreed To Fund Up To $10,000 of A Re-Roofing of Their Building. They Managed To Get Some of the Labor Donated and Finally Were Able To Get the Project Complete. We Are Happy To See Funds From Our Memorial Run Go To Fund Such A Worthy Project So This Organization Can Concentrate on Promotion of the Performing Arts in the Joplin Community. | 2019-12 | $10,000 |
