Description
Activities Beyond the Classroom aims to provide necessary support for every Cincinnati Public School student to engage in extracurricular activities throughout the year. It offers opportunities to build leadership, teamwork, responsibility and self-discipline that can help them succeed. ABS serves an inner city school district of 36,000 students by increasing or enhancing extracurricular activities, by increasing the number of students involved and by expanding extracurricular offerings.

Program title: athletics: high school & elmentary-contract with cincinnati public schools to provide athletic directors at 16 public high schools and to provide expense payment as outlined in the contract for game workers, security, police and required athletic items such as equipment & uniforms. Includes 4 abc funded elementary athletics programs: martial arts, soccer, tennis and swimming.
Program title: fine arts contract-contract with cincinnati publis schools to provide after-school arts programming for cps elementary schools; guest national music artists presentations for cps students;musical theater programming at withrow high school; technical theater workshops for cps high schools; professional dance choreography presentations at cps high schools; black music in america programming for cps elementary schools; cps black music in america programming for cps elementary schools; piano accompanist for cps students' rehearsals & performances; after school strings mentor programming for cps students; graphic art services on cps arts events; drama programming at cps elementary schools; 2024 international jazz festival -international artists for concert and mentoring with students, transportation for students to daily practice & teaching sessions, payment for jazz instructors, some funding secured by abc to suport jazz festival concert expenses.
Program title: community learning centers / resource coordination-contract with cincinnati public schools to provide resource coordinators at 14 public schools to support the needs of the school and students as identified and prioritized by the school's principal. Besides salary, taxes and benefits this includes some funds provided by abc to support unmet needs at the school.
