In 2011 the Acvo Vision for Animals Foundation called for and accepted grant proposals for veterinary ophthalmology research. The proposals were due decemeber 15th, 2011. The Foundation began the review of the grants and the grant funding date was february 2012. The vaf published a strategy paper in veterinary ophthalmology in 2015 after a day long think tank on the topic of sudden acquired retinal degeneration syndrome (sards). Support education in veterinary ophthalmology through research grants, education, and scholarships.
