Program wages, payroll tax, and benefits: our highly immersive and cost-free program combines classroom training and an educational internship to teach our students both how to write code and how to be a software developer. We teach full-stack web development with python, sql, flask, html and css, javascript, and computer science fundamentals in our curriculum, along with creating and advocating for inclusivity. During the first six months of our training program, students attend full-time classes at our seattle campus or virtually through our digital campus. Instructors are supported by a team of curriculum staff, student success coaches, and campus program directors. In 2022, over 300 students attended classroom training. Each student is then placed with an Ada company sponsor to complete their internship. The Ada internship and career services team provides support throughout the duration of the five month internship, including career and professional development training and workshops, continuing education, interview preparation, and job-seeker career coaching.
Our 11 month program provides a holistic approach to setting up our students for success. Ada's goal is for each student to be successful. We support reducing our students' barriers and challenges while learning by making sure students are supported throughout the program with wrap-around supports such as child-care, loaner laptops, financial assistance, mental health therapy, 1:1 tutoring, student success coaches, a learning management system, inclusion and self-advocacy training, and industry mentors. We also hold group events, facilitate outreach events and informational sessions for prospective students, and provide both in-class and remote classroom learning. Beyond the classroom and internship, we support our students by providing dei training to our corporate partners, and to our alums by hosting workshops, critical conversations, and presentations around racial justice and beyond.
Student services stipend honoraria: Ada addresses and provides solutions to remove barriers and challenges when entering the tech industry through our educational programs and support services. Over 75% of our students are low income and are able to participate in our program with support from Ada. During the last 5 five months of our 11 month program, students attend an educational internship that Ada has arranged for them with our corporate sponsors. During their internship, students receive a monthly stipend for living expenses to enable their participation in our full-time program.
Office support and occupancy: our seattle campus provides in-person classroom training to accommodate learning styles along with our fully digital offerings. Along with classrooms, lounge, and meeting areas for our students, our seattle headquarters provides work space for staff and recording rooms for digital instruction.
