Program areas at Adams County Education Consortium

The Adams County commissioners career expo is an annual career fair which hosts about 5,000 students.
Backpacks to briefcases is a dinner event designed to help students make the transition from the high school classroom to work. The program targets selected Adams County high school juniors and seniors.
The Adams County mayors and commissioners youth award (acmcya) and Adams County scholarship programs recognize teenagers in grades 6th through 12th, or those young people who may not currently be in a school setting but are 20 years of age or less. Scholarships are awarded based on recommendations from community members and teachers. Adams County scholarships are provided to graduating seniors for educational expenses at a 2 or 4 year college or university or trade school.
Apprenticeship fair is a an apprenticeship fair for high school juniors and seniors which is an educational event where various industries have booths designed to familiarize youth with school to career opportunities that include apprenticeships and certificate programs that are alternatives to four-year college programs. More than 500 high school attended the event to meet with more than 50 companies who represented skilled trades, health care, energy, it and other industries.
