Program areas at ADF Haiti

Planning, coordination, collaboration, and networking: Help create district-wide plans that guide the work of civic and nonprofit organizations. The process consists of collecting the desires, needs and ideas of the population as well as collecting opinions on the proposals formulated by local development institutions. We provide information on who is doing what, when and where, as well as socio-economic and geographic information system (GIS) data to local and non-local development institutions. We create opportunities for leaders to meet so they can form organizational relationships, discover and create opportunities, and share information. This year we also worked on providing Fond-des-Blanc's municipality with administrative support and began work on designing a civic center for the region. Additionally, we organized a soccer championship to provide entertainment and foster community engagement.
Organizational Development: We provide technical, financial, and in-kind support to local civic and nonprofit organizations, in addition to providing training. Our programs include training in digital skills, management and business administration. This year, we organized training on Microsoft Office Specialist (Excel 2019), allowing representatives of local organizations to obtain an internationally recognized certification in this field. Additionally, We have established a Rotating credit fund (Mityel Solidarite) with local organizations to facilitate access to funds for executing sustainable projects within the community.
Research - Data Collection: At ADF, we are committed to uncovering solutions that lead to transformative and lasting change. This requires a deep understanding of the complexity of current issues, which cannot be achieved without robust data collection and research. In Fond-des-Blancs, neither private nor public organizations carry out research or collect demographic, socio-economic or other data. We are committed to facilitating local, systematic and sustainable solutions, confident that the data collected by ADF will catalyze socio-economic transformation in Fond-des-Blancs. Additionally, We had the opportunity to collaborate with community organizations operating in Haiti through the Haiti Food System Alliance (HFSA) to help them collect crucial data to facilitate the implementation of their project.
