The Aerospace Heritage Foundation of Utah distributed funding for eleven intern scholarships / fellowships during the spring, summer and fall of 2023 totaling 16,500 to university and technical college students. O the annual commander's cup golf tournament was held at the hubbard golf course on september 5, 2023. Thirty-two foursomes (128 paid participants along with 32 local golf professionals) for a total of 160 golfers participated. 54,660 was taken in with net funds raised for the hill Aerospace museum was 38,917. United states congressman, blake moore, of Utah's first congressional district, once again participated in the tournament. O the legislative affairs committees of the ogden/weber chamber of commerce, davis chamber of commerce, and northern Utah chamber coalition all listed hill Aerospace museum as a top priority for supplemental legislative funding during the 2022 legislative session. Foundation executive director, robb alexander serves as the chair of the military affairs sub-committee of the davis chamber of commerce legislative affairs committee. O r & o construction, general contractor for the museum expansion project, substantially completed their work on the 90,000 square foot l.s. Skaggs gallery on october 17, 2023. O Foundation executive director, robb alexander continued to serve on the executive committee of the state of Utah museum board. He was appointed by Utah governor spencer cox. O the Aerospace Heritage Foundation of Utah sponsored the annual hill Aerospace museum volunteer appreciation luncheon held at the Texas roadhouse restaurant in layton, Utah on december 4, 2023. O the Aerospace Heritage Foundation of Utah continued an oral history project, interviewing long-time Foundation board members, museum volunteers and others. 2023 oral histories were completed on terry bean and russ westcott. Other interviews will be held in the future. O donation boxes, credit card donation kiosks, wishing wells, and the foto booth located throughout the museum brought in 51,083 during 2023. O 186,017.00 in gifts and grants were receipted by the Aerospace Heritage Foundation from july through december of 2023 from 161 donors. Major gifts/grants included, 42,657 from the state of Utah, 50,000 from the northrop grumman Foundation, 10,000 from america first credit union, 10,000 from stewart education Foundation. Other major gifts throughout the year included funding from nasa space grant consortium, america first credit union, swire coca-cola, kier construction, the alan and jeanne hall Foundation and state of Utah stem action center. 175,000 was appropriated by the state legislature during the 2022 session for the hill Aerospace museum. The funding will come from two different state agencies, the governor's office of economic opportunity, and the state division of arts and museums. Foundation members worked diligently in securing the appropriation. A total of 501,959.00 was received in gifts and grants during 2023. O sixteen museum aircraft are currently being sponsored by generous donors through the Aerospace Heritage Foundation of Utah. The museum's b-17, b-24, c-47, f-4c, f-16 a model, f-16 "little precious," f-16 thunderbird, p-47, p-51, sr-71, the jenny, the u-2 dragon lady, the burgess wright flyer, the ch-3 helicopter and h-53 helicopter are all a part of the program. These annual sponsorships raise much needed unrestricted funds for the museum. One new sponsorship in 2023 was the a-10 thunderbolt. O the flight line gift shop, which is operated by the Aerospace Heritage Foundation of Utah, had 579,166.92 in gross sales for the year 2023 (non- audited). The flight line gift shop experienced better success with its online store allowing patrons to purchase gift shop items "virtually." O Aerospace Heritage Foundation of Utah operations manager, anna serilli, continued creating virtual tours for of a number of hill Aerospace museum aircraft. Virtual tours now include the a-10 thunderbolt ii (warthog); b-17 flying fortress, the c-140 jetstar, the sr-71 blackbird, the c119g flying boxcar, the c-124c globemaster ii, the c-47 skytrain, the kc-135 stratotanker, the p-51 mustang, the sikorsky mh-53m pave low iv helicopter as well as the icbm exhibit launch control center, and the museum's 8th air force exhibit. O Aerospace Heritage Foundation of Utah website and social media statistics for the period of july 1, 2023, through december 31, 2023, are as follows. O from july 1, 2023 - december 31, 2023, the aerospaceutah.org web site experienced more than 90,400 webpage views with 66,775 new visitors. The aerospaceutah.org web site had 191,282 views in 2023 with 144,089 new visitors. The site experienced a 73% engagement rate throughout 2023. O between july 1, 2023 - december 31, 2023, the museum saw a 7.3% increase of followers on facebook, compared to january 2023 - june 2023. Between the same time frame, the museum saw a 14.4% increase of followers on instagram. Between 1 july and 31 december 2023, the museum reached 998,000 individual facebook accounts and 65,000 individual instagram accounts. Between 1 july and 31 december 2023, the museum's tiktok followers grew to a total of 7321, an increase of 6% compared to january 2023 - june 2023. The strategic plan aids the mission of the museum in reaching a much larger global audience through social media. O the Aerospace Heritage Foundation continued to work with forthgear to update the museum collection webpage. The collections page is now divided into the following aircraft types: attack aircraft, bomber aircraft, cargo aircraft, early aircraft, fighter aircraft, helicopters, and surveillance aircraft. Within each section each aircraft is listed with photograph (s), specific information on each aircraft, aircraft specifications, the aircraft's mission and tie to hill air force base, frequently asked questions, other media on the aircraft, as well as a link to items in the flight line gift shop related to the aircraft. O the Aerospace Heritage Foundation of Utah continued to take advantage of its 10,000 per month google ad words grant. Through forthgear, our seo provider, a google ad words campaign continued highlighting key search terms or words to attempt to bring aerospaceutah.org to the top in all google searches for the museum. During the period july 1, 2023 through december 31, 2023, in the google ad words campaign there were 28,750 impressions with 620 clicks for a click through rate of 2.7%. O the Aerospace Heritage Foundation of Utah continued working with forthgear to conduct search engine optimization work for the aerospaceutah.org web site. This optimization has increased the visibility of our web site and will move to the top of if not at the top of any web search of hill Aerospace museum.
