L&i training, education & support:-serve 100 apprentices per year-serve 100 pre-apprentices per year -serve 200 incumbent workers per year-open a training center in the south seattle area to provide trainings for all categories listed above-research and work to open a childcare site in the puget sound area that ocuses on hours for workers that work non-standard hours from all trades and occupations. -enhance the mi's website to portray current events and classes-provide student support services in the form of tuition, childcare, housing, transportation and food assistance.-provide pre-apprenticeship training for anyone in the greater puget sound area.-working with cael and area community and technical colleges begin to create a multi-occupational degree pathway in which apprentices that have completed 4 years of ojt can acquire their 2 year aa degree through evcc by enhancing their rsi instruction to meet the requirements of evcc's basic degree completion classes i.e. Communication, english, and math.
Pama:- communicating with boeing and iam joint programs about expanding apprenticeship to additional occupations, enhancing current programs, and launching mentorship training.- updated the existing registered apprenticeship standards from the greater puget sound area automotive Machinists apprenticeship committee to the northwest Machinists apprenticeship committee.- worked with iam w25 to connect with manufacturing employers in wood i.e. Weyerhauser and other mills. Worked with maritime center of excellence for outreach to maritime manufacturing employers to provide technical assistance to develop new and expand existing registered apprenticeship in maritime manufacturing.- delivered mentorship matters training, an online seminar that teaches communication skills that make the workplace more effective and efficient.
Career connect Washington - spokane:- complete revision of standards and related supplemental instruction outline and submit to the state board for community and techncial colleges and Washington state apprenticeship council for registration of the machinist occupation (occupation to address advanced manufacturing)- submit letter of endorsement from spokane community college higher-education institution partners providing a minimum of five credits towards an academic credential to program participants.- convene school districts, businesses, lwdb's training providers, and community-based organizations and create specific roles and responsibilities for each to implement strategies that increase access for individuals with barriers to employment.
Wanto:-partner with construction and maritime centers of excellence to host the empower conference-enhance our social media campaign that showcases women in our trades through videos and interviews-participate in high school outreach events that includes focus groups and potential coaching sessions.-host anew's rise up program with current/future employer partners to assist workplaces in creating a safe and respectful work environment.
