The Aerospace Museum of California celebrates the history of aviation and aerospace and inspires future generations to explore, dream, and discover STEM through hands-on learning. The Museum is one of aviation's greatest showcases and captures all eras of mankinds fascination with flight. The Museum is committed to providing a world-class Smithsonian Affiliate experience along with the opportunity to learn about and celebrate the past, present, and future of aerospace. Explore, discover, and be inspired by aviation and aerospace history. With a 40,000 square foot exhibit hall, over 40 aircraft and rockets, a 4-acre outdoor Air Park, incredible traveling exhibits, and permanent exhibits. Families can engage with our STEM educational activities for all ages and let their imagination soar. The museum is a Smithsonian Affiliate and member of the North American Reciprocal Museum Associate. The Aerospace Museum of California is truly a place where dreams take flight!The Museum offers a variety of educational programs and opportunities for schools,children, families, and adults, including group tours, summer STEM camps, family events, and activities. STEM education is the number one priority of the Aerospace Museum of California. Visitors of all ages can be inspired to explore Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.The Museums education programs are tailored to meet the needs of specific grade levels. All programs correlate with the State of Californias Academic Standards for Science, Math, History/Social Science, and/or Language Arts. Guided tours, classes, and hands-on education programs help to educate and inspire visitors of all ages about aviation and aerospace through STEM.AMC Named 2023 California Nonprofit of the YearAssemblyman Josh Hoover nominated and awarded the museum this prestigious recognition, emphasizing our vital role in STEM education. In a state boasting more than 190,000 nonprofit organizations, this honor underscores the steadfast support we enjoy from our community and the crucial role this museum plays in advancing STEM education across Northern California.Community Collaboration - The Hidden Heroes of Aerospace MuralIn June 2023, we unveiled a 56-foot mural honoring aerospace pioneers and inspiring future generations. Curated by our museum staff and painted by four American River College artists, it highlights past heroes and future aviation leaders. Interactive touchscreen kiosks provide an engaging, educational experience, connecting visitors with the stories and impact of these pioneers encouraging limitless opportunities in aerospace.Warbird PartnershipThe museum showcased a unique collection of vintage WWII aircraft, featuring iconic planes like the FG-1D Corsair, P-38 Lightning, and P-51 Mustang. These rotating exhibits offered visitors an up-close look at historic warbirds, inspiring aviation enthusiasts, and history buffs. We appreciate the support and aim to bring more exciting experiences to our visitors in the future.WE CAN DO IT, TOGETHER STEAM EDUCATION EVENTIn September, the museum proudly hosted our 3rd annual We Can Do It Together STEAM Education event, bringing together 1,000 female students ages 11 to 18, along with 350 adults and 40 female STEAM professionals.
