The registry and biorepository allow for greater insight into the individual and collective cases of Afe. The biorepository holds specimens which will be used in various proteomic and genomic studies. Several scientific abstracts, papers and opinions based on data from the registry have been published in medical journals in the areas of critical care obstetrics and gynecology.the Afe Foundation continues to be a leading patient advocacy organization and holds multiple board positions in influential maternal health and patient safety and quality institutions and associations; most notably, the cdc partnership for reducing maternal mortality and morbidity, the California maternal quality care collaborative (cmqcc), institute for perinatal quality improvement, obstetric life support study, pregnancy associated mortality review for the state of ca, and mommas voices, a coalition of patient advocacy organizations and individuals focused on maternal mortality and morbidity in the united states.the Foundation continues to promote education among the many disciplines in labor and delivery. Through its online course, amniotic fluid embolism a practical approach, simulation toolkit, lectures, symposiums, panels, webinars, and publications, healthcare providers will learn the knowledge and skills needed to save lives.the Afe Foundation also strives to be guiding light to those impacted by an Afe as they navigate their way forward through their physical and emotional recovery. Approximately 2,300 families receive direct support from the organization to assist with physical, emotional, and financial hardships associated with experiencing an amniotic fluid embolism.the organization continues to be the primary source of accurate and reliable information for patients, their families, and clinicians around the world.
