Program areas at Afghans Empowered Corporation
Through our schools, we supported the graduation of over 70 Afghan girls at the end of the school year, who completed their high school graduation and received additional certificate achievement for their completion of our rigorous STEM and computer coding programs. Soraya School, with its current enrollment of 103 students, successfully resumed its academic sessions. 10 female students from Gawhar Shad School in Takhar successfully completed a thorough six-month web design course, proudly graduating in the process.
We provided essential humanitarian aid to families displaced by war and facing extreme poverty. Our food package program provided nutritious meals to Afghan families internally displaced in Afghanistan and refugees in Mexico. We identified the neediest families, and provided each family with 2 months worth of non perishable food items, and covered essential medical expenses.
In Athens, Greece 60 students participated in our English and Greek language, and digital literacy classes 60 students participated in our health education classes . 1000+ grocery kits distributed to poor refugees in Central Athens . 22 vulnerable Afghans were provided months of free housing in our safe shelter . 80 Afghans connected with jobs and provided job readiness training. 24 refugees accompanied by our interpreters to their medical appointments . 50+ health lessons provided for the community. Our staff oversaw the facilitation of 6 funerals in accordance with Islamic practices. We resolved 10 cases of missing persons, providing closure to concerned relatives.
