Program areas at Africa Humanitarian Action
Secured and disbursed grants to provide primary health care and mental health support response projects for refugees and the host community in South Sudan. AHA's grant improved the overall delivery of primary health care, reproductive health, mental health and sanitation services; and contributed to the prevention of HIV/AIDS transmission and impact reduction for over 60,000 refugees and host community population in the Ajuong Thok refugee camp and surrounding area, in Jam Jang County, Ruweng Administration Area, the Republic of South Sudan, in accordance with AHA's project agreement with the U.S. State Department's Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (BPRM).
Secured grant from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation which provided support to emergency water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services and healthcare programs for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in El Fasher, North Darfur, Sudan. Activities supported by AHA's grant include daily water trucking in 13 settlement camps, reaching 22,332 people daily, the procurement and supply of essential medicines and medical supplies for health facilities in the IDP camps, and provision of sanitary kits for 200 vulnerable reproductive age women.
