They offer the Kisa project, a two-year leadership course in Tanzania led by Glami, which prepares girls for university and positive social change. In 2022, 100% of Kisa scholars achieved admission to university. Program areas at Daring Girls

Daring Girls supports the implementation of two mentoring programs. Kisa project is a two-year leadership course led locally in tanzania by glami. The program prepares Girls in their last two years of secondary school to attend university and create positive social change in their communities. Binti shupavu is a four-year life skills course led locally in tanzania by glami for lower secondary school Girls covering topics such as study skills, personal leadership, health, and self-confidence. It is tailored to address key challenges that lead to hundreds of thousands of vulnerable Girls dropping out of secondary school each year, with the goal of increasing their graduation rates. Daring Girls was historically the primary funding source for glami in implementing both programs, but long- term grantors now mainly provide funding directly to glami, underscoring the strength of this programming and how it is managed by local leadership.
In addition to kisa project and binti shupavu, Daring Girls supports a handful of smaller legacy programs that provide educational opportunities for students in tanzania. Daring Girls provides scholarships for students in secondary school and university and funds a school lunch program for a primary school in a rural maasai community.
In 2023, in partnership with glami, Daring Girls expanded support for the binti shupavu mentoring program through a new pilot program that seeks to demonstrate that these time tested, successful Girls' mentoring programs can be contextualized and implemented anywhere. Together we selected our first pilot partner in kenya, the centre for women empowerment in technology (cwe-tech). They receive implementation funding from Daring Girls as well as in-person and ongoing virtual training and technical assistance from Daring Girls and glami, to localize curriculum framework to ensure it is tailored to the specific needs of Girls in murang'a county, kenya, where cwe-tech operates. In 2024, we will announce two additional partners that will round out our pilot of three organizations in three different countries that are localizing and implementing this curriculum.
